Fearrington 2009

Willie King

WILLIE KING, a wonderful bluesman and humanitatian, passed away suddenly Sunday, March 8. I have been a Willie fan for along time and 4 years ago at Kentuck, he and his band were playing. I was stoked-I made him a Willie King piece and was able to give it to him in person and chat awhile.



What i found was a gracious and sweet man loaded with talent. Little did I know that 2 of his band members, Debbie and Rick, headed up the Alabama Blues Project. They invited me to do an art project… Continue

March 15 - Willie King

Today Willie’s funeral was held. I have been playing willie king music all day. one of my favs is mamaluchi…i can see willie dancing through the audience playing, singin n gyratin…he was something..a real entertainer who was humble to th core. Blue

ok i admit-i am blue-blue is me…i am frequently asked why i paint many of my art pieces blue-especially the people. well, i like blue-its my favorite color. i love the blues-my favorite music…to me blue is endless…look at the sky–its blue and it goes on and on and on…same for th sea….blue inspires me…
